House Cleaning in Fernwood, Victoria

Why Fernwood Homeowners Choose Pearly's

Fernwood is one of Victoria's most eclectic neighbourhoods — an arts district built around Fernwood Square, the Belfry Theatre, and the Cornerstone Cafe, with character homes tucked between coffee shops and community gardens. A lot of the houses here went up in the early 1900s and still have their original fir floors, plaster walls, and the kind of charming quirks — sloped ceilings, narrow back stairs, single-pane windows — that a rushed crew tends to bang up. Our cleaners know how to work around vintage finishes without scratching or soaking them.

The streets off Gladstone and Stanley are a real mix. You'll have a restored 1910 four-square that's been somebody's pride for thirty years sitting next to a heritage house carved into three suites, and across the way a walk-up apartment full of students and first jobs. Each one cleans differently. Plaster and old fir don't like the harsh stuff and standing water, so we keep it gentle on those and save the heavier work for the kitchens and baths that can take it. A lot of Fernwood is renters and busy households who care about the place but don't have a Saturday to give it, plus owners of older homes who want someone careful around the original details. Stadacona Park anchors the south end and Spring Ridge the north, and most of our work here spreads by a neighbour mentioning us over the fence — which only happens when the last clean actually held up. We're also honest about heritage homes: a hundred-year-old kitchen won't pass for a showroom, but it can look genuinely cared for, and that's what we aim at. When a finish we haven't met before turns up, we ask how you want it handled rather than guess and risk it.
